Fog is one of the most mystical elements nature has to offer. I myself don't like to be in the fog, it is cold, humid and never really gets light. Nevertheless it is always interesting to look for silhouettes, which can be photographed in the fog. But last weekend the goal was not to take pictures in the fog, but above the fog.

In many places in the world it is difficult to photograph the sea of fog. Because there are not enough hills, which are high enough. And let's be honest. Just seeing the sea of fog from above is not as interesting as seeing a hill or even a mountain sticking out of the fog. This was exactly our goal. To find a few beautiful places above the fog, where not only the fog itself is beautiful to look at, but also an interesting landscape is created. Fortunately for me, we have a lot of hills and mountains here in Switzerland. It was not so difficult to find some nice places from where we could take pictures from above to photograph the fog line and see how the fog tries to devour everything.

To our luck we also had the best weather conditions. Above the fog was a bright blue sky. The low autumn sun drew interesting shadows in the woods and hills. From the north side of Lake Thun we had a great view of the mountains and the beautiful Swiss Alps. A little bit north towards Goldiwil and Eriz we had a wonderful view of the hills which mixed with the fog. Now and then a lonely tree on top of a hill, what a landscape.

It was really hard for me to decide for a few pictures. We had taken so many different photos in different places. So I would be very happy about your feedback, which pictures do you like best and why? Or why do you like some pictures less than others? Leave us a comment.
